IT WAS TOTALLY FAB

Boo hoo, my time exhibiting with Paper Jukebox at Fringe Arts Bath has sadly come to an end! Floors swept and pictures packed away, it was with a heavy heart I said goodbye to our lovely exhibition space. It's been a wonderful few weeks working with the collective, meeting new artists and being a part of such an amazing event.

Also I will miss the spectacular views of Bath our venue offered- I've spent many an hour observing life strolling through one of the most beautiful cities in the world, although it saddens me to think that most people were more interested in reaping up the shiny products on the ground floors than the stunning scenery!

Oh yes and got a sneaky peek at the Roman Baths... for free!

IT'S ABOUT TIME!

So it's been a very busy few weeks with the Paper Jukebox collective in preparation for our brand new mind-muddling exhibition TIME, as part of the Fringe Arts Bath. We're showing our work at the old Officer's Club premises in Bath.

We've been getting down and dirty in our overalls transforming our once-shabby exhibition space into a shiny mecca of cleanliness:

Now the room's all prepared it's on with some work! I have a long standing feud with printers but this evening I've made friends with this lovely, gigantic epsom printer...

 

It's always very nerve wracking waiting for the results to come out but thankfully we got it right, and there's a sneak preview of my work for the exhition- in response to the space, I've gone a lot bigger than usual!

And here's a short excerpt from my new piece! I guess I would describe it as an existential visual poetry essay around the theme of 'TIME'... but you'll have to come to the exhibition and decide for yourself!

Aaaaaand last but not least we've teamed up with Moo Skins to create a limited-edition set of iPhone cases... here's mine! They will all be displayed and on sale at the exhibition. Not long to go now!

AN ILLUSTRATOR'S HOUR

A GOOD OLD YARN

A few weeks ago I was asked by up-and-coming collective "A Good Old Yarn" to exhibit some work for an evening of poetry and art... The night was comprised of some fantastic performance poetry, offset against a backdrop of textiles & art. I don't think I've ever attended a poetry reading in my life (unless you count "The Class of 2000 Leaver's Rap" composed by my year six classmates, and performed in an assembly in which the local vicar fell asleep) but really enjoyed an energetic, touching, lyrical hour with some fine young poets.

Also at the event I met the lovely Joanna Priest who exhibitied some amazing nautical inspried textile work- which on its travels has received even Kevin McCloud's nod of approval! (Personal hero)

Setting the scene:

On a nautical theme I produced some new work in a collection I like to call, "Weird Stuff From Under The Sea" (working title). Honestly, there's some seriously freaky crap down there.

The collective focus on bringing together young artists in the Gloucestershire area, so if you're anywhere near the five valleys and have some work to show or something to say, get in touch- they're a really lovely (slighly loopy) bunch of creatives!
